From the earth to your hands

On our diamond programs, every stone is graded, logged on Tracr, and matched to its origin through the GIA’s PROV-T service. That record travels with the piece in a certificate you can verify at any time.

Vol. I: Butterfly

Each wing is carved from a single piece of jade, held in gold pierced and chased by hand and followed along every edge with diamonds. Two pear-cut diamonds sit at the body, and the flowers gathered at the base carry rubies, garnets and a single orange sapphire. Fourteen weeks at the bench, most of them spent on the piercing.

The wings are titanium, anodized so the blue comes from current passed through the metal rather than from any pigment or coating. Fancy diamonds run across them in graded tones, from yellow through cognac to black, and the three stones at the center, brown through olive, were chosen first: everything else was built around them.

Vol. III: Rough Diamond

A 1.34 carat natural rough diamond, uncut and unpolished, sits in a gold tension setting. The two ends of the band never meet, and the pressure of the gold alone holds the stone exactly as it came out of the ground. Graded of the first water, the oldest term in gemology for a diamond this clean, it is one of a kind.

Vol. III: Rough Diamond

A 1.13 carat natural rough diamond octahedron sits on a hand-hammered gold band, every face untouched. The small triangles on its surface are trigons, etched deep within the Earth as the diamond formed and rose. Graded sawable, clean enough to be cut into two polished diamonds, it was kept whole, and the ring is one of a kind.

Strata · Okavango, 2026

Made with Annette Fernando, around twenty-six rough diamonds from the Okavango.

19.88 ct total · 4 works · Okavango Diamond Company, Botswana

Strata · Okavango is the first artistic collaboration of the house. Annette Fernando conceived the imagery, painted each work, and signs it as the artist of record, while LEGACYGEM brought the concept and the stones.

Each stone was sliced by hand and set into the surface of the works, so the diamonds are not depicted but physically present, and every one of them can be followed on Tracr from the earth to the work it belongs to.

Annette Fernando
Strata · Okavango, The Earth, by Annette Fernando, set with rough diamond slices
The Earth

The first work shows a single rough diamond resting in its kimberlite, the volcanic rock that carried it up from the mantle. The white grain across the painted ground is made of smaller rough diamonds from the same earth.

Strata · Okavango, The Geometry, by Annette Fernando, set with rough diamond slices
The Geometry

The second work turns from realism to the geometry of nature. Its triangular form is a macle, a twin crystal in which two diamonds fuse into one, and the pale flecks across its surface are real rough diamond slices.

Strata · Okavango, The Plural, by Annette Fernando, set with rough diamond slices
The Plural

The third work is the most populated of the series, a close and dense field of rough stones gathered on a single surface. The one becomes the many, and every fragment set into the paper is a real diamond.

Strata · Okavango, The Sculpture, by Annette Fernando, set with rough diamond slices
The Sculpture

The fourth work closes the series where it began, with the stone itself as the subject: here the material is not the setting but the point, and its record is kept with the other three.

The journey of our diamonds Selection Planning Cutting Certification The provenance
01 Selection

Everything starts with a single stone, long before a sketch exists. With diamonds we can follow that stone all the way to the mine it came from. With emeralds and rubies we choose instead for the depth of color and the rarity that no two share.

diamondsTraceable to the mine
colorChosen for depth and rarity
the ruleStone first, always
02 Planning

A rough is mapped in three dimensions before a single facet is touched. This is where the hardest choices are made, since every carat saved for brilliance is a carat given up in size. One reading of the stone decides the whole piece.

mappingRead in three dimensions
the trade-offWeight against brilliance
yieldOne plan, no second cut
03 Cutting

Now the plan meets the wheel. Each facet is placed by hand and by eye, at angles measured to a fraction of a degree, until the stone stops hiding its light and starts returning it. This is the moment a rough becomes a diamond.

facetsPlaced to a fraction of a degree

resultLight returned, not absorbed
04 Certification

Anyone can call a stone rare. We would rather it be provable. Each diamond is graded and logged on a register we do not control, so the person who owns it can confirm what it is, and where it came from, without taking our word for any of it.

[05]  Provenance Botswana · Debswana · Okavango Diamond Company

Part of our rough is mined in Botswana by Debswana, an equal partnership between the Government of the country and De Beers, and bought through the Okavango Diamond Company, owned outright by the state.

ODC sells its share on an open bidding platform, so the price a stone is bought at and the route it travels are both a matter of record rather than of trust.

Our Botswana stones come from four mines, Jwaneng, Orapa, Letlhakane, and Damtshaa, worked under the Kimberley Process, conflict free, with hospitals, schools, and housing built around them.

Decades of free education, and the paved roads that connect the country, were funded by stones like these.

Rough diamond held in tweezers
Almost everything people treasure is fragile, but a legacy should not be.

A graded card is paper, a trophy is plated, a career ends, and a night is over by morning. LEGACYGEM exists to give those things a form that survives.

The beginning

LEGACYGEM was born from stone knowledge, and from access to material most houses never see. That inheritance comes from a family business in the diamond trade, and from the working end of the diamond, jewelry, watch, and luxury trades in Antwerp, Mumbai, Dubai, Hong Kong, Tokyo, and Paris.

A piece begins as a stone, and the design is built to it. We never force what the stone will not allow.

The materials

It is built to outlast you.

Diamond is the hardest natural material on earth, and gold does not corrode. They are the only materials that reliably outlive the people who own them, and they are the reason the house exists.

The work

It can mark anything that matters.

What the house makes permanent changes with every project: a bond, a career, an obsession, a night that mattered. The craft behind a matched pair of diamonds and a championship ring is the same, and so is the standard it is held to.

The promise

It continues with you.

The stone was here long before its owner and will be here long after. A jewel is made so that what it marks can carry on, and the legacy it continues is always the wearer’s. The house keeps the record, and the wearer keeps the memory.

The record

It is recorded, forever.

A jewel built to outlast its owner needs a record that outlasts it too. Tracr, the GIA’s PROV-T service, and the certificates we co-sign with our partners are part of the promise.

The story behind2026

Archive: the record of every jewel the house has made.

LEGACYGEM jewels are designed for a life that has already made its mark. Whether understated or bold enough to turn heads from one end of the room to the other, everyone wants the only one there is.

The making

Commission a piece.

Setting is our craft, and the bench is where we started. The stone decides the piece, the client approves it in render, and only then is it built. Nothing is made speculatively.

From the archive

Order a design from our archive, made for you across a range of sizes. The design can be repeated, but the stone at its center never is.

Made with us

Create a jewel from scratch with our team, built around a single stone for a single person. Every piece of this kind exists once, and only for you.
